The complete guide to look your best in party photos, part 2

Athletic set

Sometimes fashion pictures can have some extra ordinary poses, sometimes they look hunchbacked in a glamorous way, don’t try that, that’s for professionals!

You need to look as athletic as you can by having feet, hip, shoulders and center of neck in a straight line. It’s easy to try to compensate this if you don’t have the belly you want or if you don’t have the chest that you you’d like, compensating for this makes you look unnatural. Trust me when I say this, you look better with an athletic set then trying to compensate for a belly or something like that, no matter what body type you have! If you are afraid of too much skin showing under your chin, read the next part

Sometimes it can look better to lean more on one leg when standing, or leaning to one side when sitting.

Look thinner

You do look thinner from the side, than from the front (depending on your body structure). So what can we learn from this? If you  have the camera straight from the side, put one foot in front of the other. Imagine that you have an arrow pointing out of your chest, and you need to turn your body towards the camera with about 50 degrees (half way in a quarter of a circle). Now you have a “classic” posing and you will look thinner on the photo. Combine this with an athletic set. This works mostly for girls but also for men, men can look slightly feminine doing this, but if you don’t mind :) .

Also, tilt your head up, this way the skin under your cheek stretches out. Lean in towards the camera, but not to aggressively.

Makeup
Don’t overdo the makeup!!!
I’ve read that mineral foundations reflects the light better, don’t use heavy foundations. Also use powder before you’re getting photographed.
Red wine (and other alcoholic drinks) tends to make your face more red. This alcohol flush reaction can be prevented with powder.

Try some of these techniques next time you are in front of the camera, if it works get back here and comment :) .
